Clay: Raku Crank 10KGS
Raku Crank Modelling Clay from Fired Up Kilns
Raku Crank Modelling Clay is suitable for: Hand building, Slabbing, large sculpture and large tiles and wheel throwing.
The good thermal shock resistance makes this the clay of choice for building saggers, large hand built work and sculptures.
Ideally suited to Raku Glaze firings due to the good thermal shock resistance property.
It is a highly grogged clay with high plasticity producing an interesting texture, and low shrinkage which makes it highly resistant to warping. Due to the large particle size some 'spit out' may be observed.
% Shrinkage (w-f) - 6%
% Expansion @ 500°C - 0.26%
Fired Colour - Buff / Grey.
Texture 6 (1 = smooth 10 = coarse)
Firing Temperature Range 1060° - 1280°C
