Pottery Tool Making workshop

Unleash your creativity and enhance your pottery practice in our Pottery Tool Making Workshop, led by international woodworking artist Val Machado. This workshop is designed for both beginners and experienced potters eager to craft their own tools.
Join us for a day of hands-on learning where you will:
- Learn hand carving techniques and explore the use of power tools.
- Create unique pottery tools tailored to your artistic style for both hand building and wheel throwing.
Throughout the workshop, you'll make 4-5 custom wooden tools, beginning with a burnishing tool using a Brazilian stone. You’ll have the opportunity to design and create your own wooden ribs, paddles, and other essential tools that reflect your individual practice.
All materials will be provided, including an oil and sanding kit to maintain longevity in your tools.
